About Us

  • Collections

    The ICAN Library has a rich volume of information resources in print and electronic formats with over 20,000 book volumes, 40 journal titles, 47 Magazine titles, 23 Newsletter Titles, and other information resources such as reference resources, reviews, reports, government, and NGO publications of information resources such as books. The ICAN Library has large collections of audiovisual resources.
    The collections of ICAN Library include large volumes of ICAN local content publications such International Journal of Accountants and Finance (IJAF), the Nigerian Accountant, ICAN Professional and ATSWA Examination study packs, Pathfinder, ICAN theses and commissioned research reports, annual reports, and financial statements, ICAN newsletters, training program, ICAN ceremony program of events, and many others.

  • Physical Services

    The ICAN Library provides conducive spaces for reading and learning, technical services (lamination, spiral binding, and paper cutting), reprographic services (printing, scanning, and photocopying), reference services, and circulation services such as resource borrowing, among others.

  • Electronic Services

    The ICAN Library subscribes to the ProQuest database for e-books and the EBSCOhost database for e-journals. Login details are sent to members on request or after paying the annual members’ subscription fee.
    The specialized digital services provided in ICAN Libraries include:

    1. e-Literature Search:This involves conducting an online literature search, downloading literature materials, and sending them to ICAN Members electronically.
    2. Document Delivery: This involves scanning relevant information resources and sending them to users electronically.
    3. e-Circulation Services: This involves renewing loaned information resources without the physical presence of the users.
    4. e-Current Awareness Services: This involves keeping users abreast with new arrivals in the ICAN Library digitally.
    5. Internet Services: This involves assisting the students in processing and printing their examination forms.

  • e-Library Facilities

    This is a digital/online library facility provided by the Institute’s library to read e-books, e-journals, and access other information resources. The e-library is part of a network with links to renowned publishers and other libraries that provide access to digital and scholarly information on the web. Specific deliverables of the department are:

    1. Sending E-Library Login Details: Send Login details of the e-databases to Financial Members.
    2. Literature Search and Document Delivery Services: Literature search services are provided to Financial Members of the Institute
    3. Referral Services: The library has continued to render different referral services to ICAN members and students both physically and remotely.
